Many thanks for that web reference to the piece in today's

It must have been written by that very rare creature - a
journo who can write well and knows in detail and depth what
s/he is talking about (accurate, no padding, lots of

My only quibble is that I would have preferred a Melbourne
paper to have mentioned eucalpyts, as well as grevilleas and
banksias, as encouraging the Noisy Miners. Around here in
Bayside naturalists have been lobbying for more than a
decade to replace some of the planted gum trees with more
helpful species.

Anyhow, congratulations to the author - who the printed
newspaper says is none other than our own Greg Roberts!
