Dean Portelli wrote of seeing two Yellow Wagtails at Eastlakes on 28/1/03. I visited the Donaldson Rd pond at 6:30-7:20 am on the same morning (en route to a work conference at Bondi) and saw (from Dean's descriptions) the more brownish of the 2 birds at the SE corner of that pond. As well, I saw at the south end of that pond a pair of Spotted Crake - which looked like a parent and a large juvenile from the way it followed the other around and had more subdued colouring on the bill.
