There have been a number of desert birds moving into the this region recently, fleeing the drought, but it seems there now may also be some mountain / wet forest birds coming into lower elevations fleeing the fires.
 
We have had three Sooty Owls here in Yackandandah (in E. bridgesiana trees along a creekline) for each of the last three nights.
