Hi Trevor

Agapornis roseicollis are well known to be good at escaping
from cages. One lasted at Ricketts Point for two months
despite the presence of lorikeets, mynas...

I haven't heard of them breeding in the wild in Australia
but Redstart's checklists at
http://www.redstart.com/checklists/PPC/notes.htm
says they are considered to have formed a feral population
around Phoenix, Arizona, USA

I say you should take a precautionary approach - look at
what the Barbary Dove population has done in Alice Springs.
Perhaps someone would like to trap rather than shoot them:
http://www.burkesbackyard.com.au/facts/2001/garden/lovebird_19.html
says they cost from $25 - $200 each.
