Happy New Year all

Thanks to Russell Woodford's posting from Geelong, people
around Bayside were watching out for swifts and I was phoned
at 8pm on New Year's Eve by Ian Parsons who told me there
were two passing over nearby.

Soon I saw up to 5 fork-tailed swifts over our gardens, down
to 50m or so. The species has not been recorded in Bayside
since I migrated to Australia over 10 years ago.

Ian was videoing them up to about 9pm so maybe they will be
around in 2003 !
