In the last month I haven't really seen much of interest, however I have noticed that there are still Pacific (White-necked) Herons at some locations, and also I've been seeing quite a few Little Egrets around the metro area. Most of the Little Egrets I have seen flying towards/from and over Lake Monger, however I have also seen a pair flying in the direction of Carine Open Space. Other points of interest was a single Barn Owl at a friends property in Bullsbrook on Christmas Day, and a Red-Capped Parrot on Christmas Eve in South Duncraig. This morning we were greeted by a huge flock, 50+, Carnaby's Black-Cockatoo in some trees along Semple Court South Lake (near the Dutch Windmill). Young birds begging calls were also heard in the flock but we were not able to count number of young ones.

Looking forward to a New Year of birding ... best wishes to all :)
