Contrary to popular belief Little Kingfishers are no more uncommon here on
the Atherton Tablelands than they are on the coast.

The day after the Australia Day trip of Birds Australia to Kingfisher Park
where I was told that they do not occur on the Tablelands, one flew into a
window at my place in Yungaburra. Nobody on the excursion was able or
inclined to support my statement but if any of you are visiting the
Tablelands I would only be too happy to take you to an excellent site for
these birds on private property. Otherwise I can tell you of some good
public sites.
