I don't think I even want to ASK how THAT happened!! The mind boggles!!

Hope it recovers OK, they are an unreal bird.

Hi all
An update on the Great-crested Grebe that I mentioned in the NT
Birdchat this week. The following note was sent by the person
caring for the bird. Seems to be doing well.

===============
"He was found on the road near Katherine Gorge, on the
26th October, 2002. His paddles have a lot of grazes underneath
and some cuts on his legs. He has broken a piece off the beak
and a small bruise on the bottom beak as well. He weighed 571g
but should weigh around 1000g plus. He has gained 20g so far
and eating very well."
