Dear all,
Since Marilyn has unfairly singled me out personally in her post, I would
like to state on the record very clearly that I am NOT among those whom she
claims to have sent her abusive or x-rated email. I did not even read her
last posting about wader mutilation, because I knew it would be exactly the
same as all of her other emails. Marilyn did not make this accusation of me
directly, of course, but by CCing her note and referring to me by name, the
inference was there to be made. Should anyone have drawn this inference, I
reject it utterly.
I take note of Marilyn's ridiculous threat to banders to watch out should
she ever be in charge of the cannon. In noting it, I ask Tony Russell to
please reconsider his decision to leave birding-aus. Tony, I would rather
read 500 of your messages, even if half of them were about the football,
than have to read another message by someone who quite clearly holds the
remainder of the birding-aus community in utter contempt.
I apologise to those who just want to get back to reading about birds but I
feel forced to respond in this instance. Fortunately I'm off on a pelagic
trip in a few hours time which I'm sure will make me feel better. I'll
report back with some hopefully more cheerful news.
