Hi
Ventured forth once again into the dark of night - torch in hand,
enthusiasm relentless. This time a breeze in the tree tops and half moon.
Back to MC Trotter reserve in Tingalpa, Brisbane. Once again round the same
sandy tracks, torch on only when needed, likely looking trees inspected
carefully, ears on edge, eyes peeled.....
No birds, but did pinpoint two Brush Tail Possums with well
developed young on their backs. Two sets of golden eyes peering down from an
upper branch, one above the other, is weird! Thought I saw something fly
from a tree, but nothing definite at all. I wondered where all the 'day'
birds go at night? Presumably deep cover to sleep, but isn't it strange how
they all disappear? One would think that spotlighting would pick up at least
one or two?
Oh well. Better luck next time, will persevere!
