Spent a couple of hours at the Brisbane Koala Bushland one the weekend and
the adjacent southern end of Tingalpa Reservoir. The bush birds were quiet
but I did get there rather late (about 9am) while there good numbers of
waterbirds. Interesting species where the white-headed form of the Varied
Sitella, Whiskered Terns in breeding plumage and a small flock of
woodswallows. I also saw a male Variegated and Red-winged Fairy-wren
sitting about six inches apart on the same bush, almost needed sunglasses
for that one.

On the topic of the woodswallows, I haven't seen Dusky Woodswallows for a
long time but these were a lot darker, chocolate brown that I remember and
there was definitely no white on the leading edge of the wing, leading me to
think that maybe they were Little Woodswallows, the only woodswallow species
I haven't seen. Does anyone have any comments on the likelihood of Little
Woodswallows around Brisbane, particularly in light of the current day
conditions inland?
