g'Day all

On 2nd Sept. 2002, several Brown Honeyeaters (15+) were observed
dispersed amongst a local irruption of other more expected honeyeater
species feeding on flowering Coolibahs at 27.02.307 S, 133.26.896 E.
Grey-crowned (Red-chested) Babblers are there too.

This location is about 35 km. north west of Marla where currently much
of the vegetation is flowering and seeding indicating recent good
conditions, although the country is beginning to dry out now. The area
is about 1 km east of the Stuart Highway, provides an excellent camping
site being part of the Alberga Creek flood plain, and is only a few
kilometres from where Bill Moorhead recorded all three Whiteface
species.

Although Brown Honeyeater is not often recorded from South Australia, i
recollect reading of another published record recently but now, unable
to locate details of this.
