A good general guide for Sydney would be "A Field Guide to the Native
Plants of Sydney" by Les Robinson. It includes all plant species from
the sydney Basin. It has no photos, basically sketches of the main ID
features you are looking for. It is a modestly priced paperback about
the size of the Simpson & Day guide.
