Hi Edwin, see below for my suggestions. Hope this helps,

* Cape Barren Goose = Western Treatment Plant x2

* Black-faced Shag = Not easy, but (west coast) Point Lonsdale at the
lighthouse is probably closest.

* Blue-winged Parrots = Swan Island, Queenscliff around the golf course.
(You'll need to pretend your a golfer at bridge gatehouse). (Also good for
OBP.) Otway ranges along the ridge road is "guaranteed".

* Orange-bellied Parrots = Best spot is probably the Spit Reserve, but you'll
need a key. Organise with the person who shows you around WTP to take you in.
Also Swan Island, in the coastal heath next to the golf course.

* Brolgas = Reedy Lake, Moolap Station Road access X2.

* Rufous Bristlebirds = Loch Arch Gorge is "guaranteed" (talk to Peter Lansley
about this!), saw 4 birds last week- with a pair eating cake in the car park.
Hand feed!! (This raises the debate about seeing 'rarities' in carparks.) Also
Airies Inlet Lighthouse and any township between Lorne and Apollo Bay (ie
Separation Creek).

* Hooded Plover = Pair on Breamlea Beach.

* Banded Stilts = Point Cook and Laverton & Moolap saltworks & Point Henry. WTP.

* Fairy Terns = Lake Victoria (Lonsdale Lakes wildlife reserve).

Other rarities - Freckled Duck at lake Lorne, Drysdale.
