Birds Australia Victorian Group Conservation

VicGroup (the members of Birds Australia ie volunteers) would welcome support or expressions of interest from all those concerned about conservation issues affecting our Victorian birds and their habitat.

The Conservation Group meets monthly to discuss issues and propose action on matters of concern. We would welcome your participation either at the meeting, by e-mail or phone. We welcome and need local comment on issues, particularly regional issues and people willing to learn about, consider and address conservation matters etc.

We meet on the second Thursday of each month at 6.30 pm.

August -- at Birds Australia 415 Riversdale Road Hawthorn

Other months -- at Strathcona BGG School, Room S203 Scott Street Canterbury,

(1st floor opposite the theatrette)

Current issues

  • Box Iron Bark Forests

  • Basslink

  • Piping irrigation channels and water conservation and

  • Wimmera Cockatoo control

Please turn up at the meetings or contact the Convenor - Mark Anderson on e-mail
