Passing on the message below just received from Phil Moors at the Royal
Botanic Gardens, Melbourne.

just to alert BA and birdos generally that there is a
Powerful Owl in the Botanic Gardens at the moment, with excellent views
of it. The bird is perched about 5m up, clutching half a dead brushtail
possum, on the RH (eastern) side of the path just before the Perennial
Border - enter via F Gate (Birdwood Ave) and follow the main path for
c100m. The bird is clearly visible.
