Hi All,
Took an hour off from replanting some of the five hundred or so
trees lost in the bushfires, wondering what was happening at Mistral Point
when southerlies blew the trees over as I planted .. Stake-ins needed, would
rather have been staking out for Blue Petrels at Maroubra. Only 400 trees to

Two ? Brown Quail at the top of Mayfair road, sitting in the early
morning sun this morning after a very cold night proved to be PAINTED
BUTTON-QUAIL which allowed an approach to about 30m. A first sighting in
Mulgoa Valley for me, although the habitat suits.

While planting, a WHITE phase/morph GREY GOSHAWK being attacked
by two Magpies dashed overhead. .LETTER-WINGED KITES, KESTREL, BROWN

One silent but active CLAMOROUS REEDWARBLER overwintering on a
small dam despite frosts and below zero temperatures last night.
