Here are a few more seabird records to add to Edwin's report from
Saturday for Magic Point/Maroubra.

On Friday 28th, off Mistral Point Maroubra, there were at least six
Slender-billed Prions amongst over 50 prions, and most of the others
were, by tail pattern, not Fairy Prions (but too far out to be sure
they weren't Antarctic types).

The only birds to add to Edwin's list from Saturday were at least two
Providence Petrels amongst all the Great-wings, and one obliging
Southern Giant Petrel that came to within 70 metres of the headland -
these were off Mistral Point.

On Sunday I met Penny Drake-Brockman, Roger and Louise McGovern at
Magic Point. Not as good as Saturday, with no different birds except
a very late Sooty Shearwater. Only one Great-winged Petrel, and
worryingly, not a single Wandering Albatross was reported the whole
weekend. Also Fairy Prions were definitely in the majority on Sudney,
(only one Slender-billed), which shows how things can change. Do
prions tend to wander around in loose gatherings of primarily one
species?

There was a Cape Petrel off Mistral Point on 25th June, which was
also the day the prions began appearing off the coast here in numbers.
