For your information,

The first Right Whale of the year has just returned to Warnambool. The individual known as 'Wilma' is well known to researchers (Right Whales can be individually identified by the pattern of sponge-like callosities on their head) and has calved at Warnambool many times before. Right Whales only calf every two or three years as they have a gestation period of about ten months, so they roughly mate and calf in alternate years. Wilma therefore will have last been seen two or three years ago.

Regards,

Simon.
