Hi Frank and others,
Great sighting no doubt but any views on where this individual came from /
how it got here etc... As far as I am aware (being an ex-british birder)
Grey Herons are only found in the northern hemisphere around Europe/
Mediterranean to perhaps middle east right? + I thought the birds were
sedentary - I know that some ringed individuals have been known to move
(e.g. Sweden to northern uk) but I havn't heard of cases in the southern
hemisphere? Could this be from a collection (doubtful) or perhaps ship
assisted - any views?
