Dave James has rung from Christmas Island, where he is working and asked me
to pass on news of these sightings:

Yesterday an Oriental Honey Buzzard was flushed from beside the road on the
way to the Blow Holes.
A dead White-faced Storm Petrel was found in a Brown Booby nest at the
Terraces about 30 metres above the water line. It appeared that the Booby
had retrieved it to use as nesting material. This is out of its usual range
and a first for Christmas Is.
A bee-eater - species unconfirmed - has been reported from the Settlement.
This would be a first for CI.
