G'day all

I was birding in the southern Grampians (western Victoria) with my dad last
Saturday. We heard Ravens calling that were different to the Little Ravens we
expected to be the resident species. There was an element of the long drawn-out
call of the Australian Raven and we decided this is what we were hearing. On
Sunday I flew to Canberra where the Australian Raven is resident. The birds in
the Gramps were not Australian Ravens. The only other possibility is Forest
Raven. We didn't see the birds and I'm not familiar enough with Forest Raven
calls to ID them.

I'd welcome comments on the status of Forest Ravens in the southern Grampians (a
few km north of Dunkeld).

Cheers

Steve
