THE FIGHT GOES ON TO SAVE THE BIRDS IN ITALY

- KEEP UP THE PRESSURE ON ITALY'S POLITICIANS -

CURRENT SITUATION?
The draft legislation which would permit the decentralisation of regulation of hunting to regions is now being considered by the relevant commission (XIII - Agriculture Commission) of the lower house of parliament having been endorsed by the Senate.

It is EXTREMELY important that we do all in our power to make sure that the draft bill is given proper consideration. At best a full discussion in the chamber and not just a 'rubber stamp' treatment by the committee.

Our Proact Italy partners (Lega Abolizione Caccia) are closely monitoring the situation and have prepared a protest letter in Italian to the President of the Committee.

Please send this letter by email AT ONCE as the draft legislation is due to be discussed very soon. We will keep you informed of developments!

President of the XIII Commission of the Lower House of Parliament
Sr. De Ghislanzoni Cardoli

Onorevole!

vorremo attirare la Sua attenzione sul ddl C. 2297 (già C. 628 del Senato)
in discussione in questi giorni in Commissione Agricoltura, avente a oggetto

Cordialmente,

President of the XIII Commission of the Lower House of Parliament
Sr. De Ghislanzoni Cardoli

Dear Sir,

We would like to draw your attention to the ddl C2297 (C.628 of the Senate) now being considered by the Agricultural Commission, which would transfer legislative power with regard to hunting to Regional Administrations.

This draft legislation could, in our opinion, bring about a serious worsening of the present state of affairs, and should be rejected in its entirety.

We would like to remind you that Italy has already been condemned several times for violating European standards with regard the protection of migratory birds.

We thank you for your kind attention.

Yours sincerely,

Signature and address.
