Today I heard a brief segment on ABC Radio Triplej news about birders

Sandpiper in South Africa......wasn't this bird featured on birding-aus
recently?

Yes. Radio 720 in Perth had an interview with Dan Blunt from the Broome Bird Observatory for 5 to 10 minutes this morning. I have already been asked by a couple of non birders if I heard the interview. This is a good chance to explain to people the importance of these birds and protecting their habitat.
