Just a couple of quick corrections to Laurie's earlier post. Laurie thought
I said that the slate-grey back of the Laughing Gull was darker than a
Pacific Gull; I meant the opposite (Pacific Gull upperparts are black, at
least where I come from). Also while the outer primaries are tipped white,
the description of them as "windows" I would think a bit generous and more
applicable to Franklin's Gull - which this bird is most certainly not!

The bird certainly seemed more settled than on my previous visit. It will be
interesting to see how long it hangs around.
