Last Sunday I took a Canadian birder to visit the Western Treatment Plant and he was suitably impressed, getting some 50 or so lifers for the day. Apart from the highlights of Frecked Duck, Glossy Ibis, Pacific Golden Plover, Arctic Jaeger, Darter and Cape Barren Goose, we also saw a minimum of 20 Fork-tailed Swifts over the Borrow Pits, slowly moving south. Regards, Tania.
