Indeed what definitely was a Black Kite always was accompanied by the call of a Whistling Kite (never by the right sound and also I suspect at least once by a Red-tailed Hawk call as well, as in the scream before the downward whistle of the Whistling Kite). I was a bit surprised at also hearing a Riflebird at least once, though that was just in the background. Still, what an excellent film (apart from that).

Leanne and I spent a couple of hours in a packed cinema watching
Rabbit Proof Fence - a lot of people taking in the SA scenery.  The strange
thing was the way what looked like a black kite sometimes sounded like a
whistling kite.  I also thought I heard a bush thickknee.  Are there many
running about in the greater Flinders ranges these days?
