Many thanks to those who replied to my RFI, and especially to Peter Ewin.
Peter, your directions were spot on and we had very good views of the
kingfisher at the end of the boardwalk at Ukerabagh Nature Reserve (Tweed
Heads). As we were there at midday in 37o heat, luck played a part too!

So, as my luck was in I thought I would try for the Kentish Plover too.
However, arriving at Old Bar about 4pm. on a very hot day and just before
low tide was not a good idea! I trudged over the dunes and tried very hard
to turn red-capped and golden plovers into Kentish, but no luck. Other
birdwatchers there at the time said it had not been seen all day.
Unfortunately I had to leave and could not try again the next day. I hope
otheres had better luck.

Jill
