Some bird digest chitin fairly well - e.g. some krill eating seabirds,
others don't.  Drongos may not have been studied.

Pellet regurgitation is apparently known from many groups of birds.
Don't know about Drongos.

I know this isn't much of an answer - thought it might prompt someone
to a better effort.
