Fan-tailed Cuckoo calling

I have been intrigued to hear a Fan-tailed Cuckoo calling at Dawn lately,just before sunrise. It started me wondering if it was still trying to attract a mate.
They occasionally over winter here in the Dandenongs.
All other species have finished breeding here .
