Hello all. Thanks for the interest in my Game Bill e-mail so far. Sorry,
I should have provided some more information for you all. Here is some
of what Andrew Wozniak, Vice-President of the RSPCA said in the Summer
2001 edition of the magazine ANIMALS...

'The RSPCA is very disturbed by proposals which would effectively allow
the introduction of game parks in NSW. The State Government proposes a
NSW Game Council, which would oversee hunting on both private and public
land... Under the proposals feral cats and dogs would be fair game for
shooters. Also in the sights of hunters are animals whoich are not
regarded as damaging to the environment and are not in pest proportions.
They include quail, pheasant, patridge, peafowl and turkey... Game parks
have been outlawed in this State since 1979... Seven positions on the
proposed NSW Game Council would be reserved for the shooting lobby. Of
the other positions, not one of them has been allocated to an animal
welfare body, such as the RSPCA... Hunters and shooters have also been
busy lobbying for changes to the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act...
to formally allown the creation of private game parks..."

If Game Parks were to be established, it may well mean open slather on
any animal... you name it... Powerful Owls, Greater Gliders, pademelons,
Brush Turkeys... whatever... who would police it????

Please spread the word and help try to increase the peace for our
animals..

Thanks to Andrew taylor for finding the bill link.

Peace and light,

LGJ
