Hello all,

With increasing interest in and support for Proact Projects (and
there is a lot in preparation present), a word on 'Freedom of
Choice' for supporters. The 'loan' of your signature - by no means
an undated 'blank cheque' - for campaigns enables us to react
rapidly and
effectively when birds and their habitats are threatened. I realise
only too well that for personal or professional reasons some
individuals cannot (or do not want to) publicly support specific
campaigns, and therefore hesitate to join the Team. Your,
understandable, anxiety is unnecessary. For those who rarely read
the 'small print', please see my public reassurance  online at

repeated for 'surf-savers' below:

<...>

Joining the Proact Team to protect birds and their habitats
worldwide offers

- EFFECTIVE and RAPID REACTION where it is needed -

and

- FREEDOM OF CHOICE for our individual supporters -

Proact is, and I intend it to remain, a 'family firm'. When you mail
me - for WHATEVER personal reason, and WITHOUT any requirement for
EXPLANATION:

"David, please take my signature off the list for the 'No-man's-
land' campaign"

I will meet your wish instantly. Your signature is your unique
property and I am grateful for the privilege of being lent it for a
good cause.

Have a good spring birding week,

David
