Hi all

Took a group of shorebird enthusiasts for a weekend trip around the Illawarra &
Shoalhaven regions (sth of Sydney) and recorded the following highlights;

Beach Stone-curlew - 1 Orient Point feeding on soldier crabs
Pied Oystercatcher - 12 Comerong Island
Sooty Oystercatcher - 18 Orient Point/Crookhaven Heads
Banded Stilt - 2 Comerong Island
Black-tailed Godwit - 2 Comerong Island
Red-capped Plover - 115 Comerong Island, 45 Windang
Great Knot - 4 - Comerong Island
Eastern Curlew, 150 - Orient Point, Comerong Bay, Comerong Island
Red-necked Stint - 120 Comerong Island
Ruddy Turnstone - 9 Crookhaven Heads, 5 Bellambi Point
Grey-tailed Tattler - 2 Barrack Point
Little Tern - 90+ Windang
Caspian Tern - 5 Orient Point, 10 Comerong Island, 35 Windang
Gull-billed Tern - 1 Comerong Island
Kelp Gull - 15 - Windang, 4 Bellambi Point

Striated Heron - 1 Orient Point, 2 Barrack Point

we had stunning views of an Australian Hobby hunting white-fronted chats in the
dunes of Shoalhaven Heads.
