With Gerry Richards I went to see the Kentish Plover at the mouth of the
Manning River. We found a group of birders on Saturday at 5 pm (high tide)
at the Pink Cup as mentioned earlier in other posts. They had found the
plover and put us onto it. It was nice to see Andrew Stafford and Paul
Wallbridge from Queensland and several of my friends from Sydney.

Gerry and I went back this morning and saw it agian at the same spot. Also
this morning we had Double-banded Plover, Mongolian Plover, Large Sand
Plover, and many Red-capped Plover. We thought that five was a good number
of small plovers at the same spot.

A tip for budding photographers: you will need a bigger lens than a 400. The
bird is very flighty and can easily out pace you when trying to get a shot
with the 400mm.
