G'day Ian,

I have cut and pasted your very first email on this
very serious subject? BUT, if? it is what it could be
feared as being? what conclusive tests have been done
to prove in fact that it is Psittacine Beak and
Feather Disease (PBFD) which is the culprit.

You have not said.

I therefore draw your immediate attention to the
ending of your email where YOU advocate that the NPWS
shoot the birds? why? when you have not got conclusive
proof as to what the cause is? and with that how can
you say it will spread? and that shooting them will
stop the spread?

Could you also note that in my private email back to
you I sent a curtesy copy to myself.

Yours Sincerely,
Vicmexican,
John A. Gamblin

Quite a lot of our local Sulphur Crested Cockatoos
seem to be affected by the disease where all their
feathers drop out - I thought this was confined to
cage-birds but it seems to be rampant in the wild
population (Cairns Northern Beaches) at the moment.

Should (or can) something be done about it?

Should National Parks be approached to shoot the
affected birds to stop the disease spreading further?

Any thoughts?
