Due to the article "Recreational Duck Shooting In Victoria" appearing in
this months BOCA magazine "The Bird Observer" I feel that some small
contribution on the subject of duck shooting on birding-aus as relevant and
suitable for this forum. I will keep it short and sweet - as always.
I have been in touch with Laurie Levy -Campaign Director of the impending
duck rescues. He passed this information on to me and gave me permission to
pass on wherever appropriate.

New rescuer meetings coming up - Thursday
February 28 and Thursday March 7 at the Animal Centre, 37 O'Connell St,
North Melbourne at 7-30pm (near the corner of Elizabeth Street and Victoria
Parade). The opening of the duck season is
Saturday march 16.

Also, as fundraising regarding bird conservation and welfare is sometimes
mentioned on birding-aus, I hope this is also considered suitable to
include.
