This seems to be a rather provocative article to forward without any comment
from yourself!

Do we know whether the statements of effects on Californian birds are backed
by any objective evidence, or just certain observations?  It is interesting
to note that according to the 2nd website quoted that New Holland
Honeyeaters have 7" (17cm) bills and Eastern Spinebills have 6.5" (16cm)
bills!  Omigod! two new variants on the birds I have seen!

To anyone's knowledge, is this "controversy" new in relation to bird
effects?  I have seen it discussed purely from the native/non-native fauna
argument.
