On Sunday I had good views of a pair of Yellow-throated Scrubwrens in a
rainforest gully of plumwood and coachwood in Morton National Park near
Bundanoon. Upon returning home to check my guides and books I read in the
Handlist of Birds of NSW (Morris & McGill) that this species may be found
(marked with ?) as far west as Bundanoon (and south to Bega). Slater
mentions they are found as far south as Bega. Pizzey & Knight I think
mentions that they are only found as far south as the Illawarra region? Are
Yellow-throated Scrubwrens found regularly in the Bundanoon area or further
south along the South Coast?
A confiding Wonga Pigeon along one track was also of interest.
