Anthony, the bird you are hearing is most likely a Scarlet Honeyeater. At Nurragingy Reserve, Doonside there quite a few Scarlets and many were feeding in mistletoe.
 
They can be hard to see sometimes as they usually found in the tops of trees but if you can find an area which has mistletoe you stand a good chance to see them.
