NZ twitchathon

Now this gets the mind ticking over a bit ....  if we can play the Irish at 
"International Rules" so our Aussie Rules stars get an outing in the national 
colours, why can't we try to organise some sort of trans-Tasman rivalry in the 
birding world?

I think the only way to claim the trans-Tasman crown would be for a NZ team to 
try their luck at one of our twitchathons, and somehow get one of our teams - 
or a composite one - across to Kiwiland for their event.  The winner would 
obviously be the team with the biggest combined total. 
Sounds like a really crazy way to blow a lot of cash and your annual holidays, 
but since when have birders been known for being conservative and cautious?

Anyway, if anyone thinks this is a good idea, you're welcome to use it as long 
as you take me along.
