This morning I saw a single Red-Backed Kingfisher on the outskirts of Murray Bridge in South Australia. I have only seen this species on a few occasions in this area. This is about the southernmost limit of its range here in SA.

It dived into the grass some 5 metres in front of me and then carried off an insect very purposefully towards a creek bank some 100 metres away so it may be nesting. (This may be hard to verify as it is on private property).
