Everyones talking about the Twitchathon, but here is a different "-athon"
rist.  I ran in the Sydney Marathon this morning, I had a vague idea of
trying to list 42 birds - one per kilometre. as a distraction from the
aches & pains.

In principle, quite doable as the route included a circuit of Centennial
Park.  In practice, looking around wasn't possible and much of my list
was heard, and only obvious calls at that.  I did manage the 27 below.

Plenty of glaring omissions but one good bird (for my part of inner sydney
at least) - Fan-tailed Cuckoo in Concord.  This was about kilometre 35 so
I was far from my best by then - but I can't think what I could have
mistaken for its call.
