Refer the June thread.
The following is a cut and paste from the ABC Landline web

Wind farms must be bird-proof:
Govt
The Commonwealth Department of the Environment has
declared a proposed wind-farm in northwest Tasmania can not be built unless
there's protection for birds that might fly into the huge blades.
Hydro
Tasmania says it has been asked to prepare a management plan to care for several
bird species in the area, it's confident it can comply at no extra cost and
without delay.
"We have to do the monitoring to comply with the State
government requirements and it won't delay the start of the project either
because almost all the plans have actually been prepared. We just have to
finalise them and get them approved by Environment Australia," Andrew Pattle of
Hydro Tasmania said.
