Hi Tania,

That is definately a big roost! I came across a large roost the other day at
Wilson Reserve in Ivanhoe (Melb) - while looking for the Red-Whiskered Bulbul!
(Still looking!) I didn't get a bird count, but would estimate 10 - 15 birds.

The other Inner Melbourne roost I know off is at Kane's Bridge, Yarra Bend -
which contains about 10 birds.

A gentleman in Carrum, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, has reported up to 60
Nankeen Night Herons roosting in a single tree. He has been seeing them for
the last month fly out at dusk from the tree and is interested to know if it is
unusual to see so many together.

Regards,

Tania.
