disclosing nesting sites

Martin O'Brien's posting about the unadvisability of revealing nesting locations of birds prompts me to ask the question, how much dnager is there in disclosing nesting locations? Obviously I would never disclose parrot or raptor breeding locations, or the breeding locations of seriously endangered birds, but what about the rest? And what is the danger, inadvertant disturbance, deliberate disturbance or egg-theft?
