Hi All,

May I apologise for using cryptic jargon the other day, but I did it
honestly believing that it was more widely understood than it is.

Commic is a contraction of Common and Arctic terns, and pertains to a group
of terns which are all very similar, frustratingly so, in non-breeding
plumage. I didn't invent the term, just picked it up along the way, and
don't know its origin. I have a feeling it is of English origin.
White-fronted terns are within this category.

Cheers
