Hi everyone,
A count on the incoming tide on the Cairns Esplanade (16° 54' 58''S 145°
46' 21''E) this morning (23/7/2001) was more productive than the one on the
outgoing tide last Friday (20th). Of interest were the Marsh Sandpiper and
Black-tailed Godwits - unusual here at this time of year - + the large

breeding plumage. The count is below

Australian Pelican-6

Great Egret-3
Intermediate Egret-2
Striated Heron-1
Nankeen Night Heron-1
