                                BIRDLIST NORWAY TRIP 1. NON-PASSERES

Maybe it can be of some interest to show what birds one sees during a
holidays-sightseeing like trip through the middle part of Norway. Ole post
has recently given an excellent annotated list of birds seen in Denmark,
and my annotations therefore can be kept to a minimum. please keep in mind,
that more active birding would have led to a appreciable larger list, and
more specificically, that my botanical interests prevent me from looking up
enough, so that I always do specially poorly with raptors. Also, on every
such trip there are so unaccountable absentees, that are common enough, but
just did not show themselves this one time. Examples in this list of such
absentees are e.g. Bluethroat, Willow Grouse and Wood Sandpiper. And as we
never visited one of the seabird cliffs, there are very few primary
seabirds on the list, nor birds of the higher mountains, such as Purple
Sandpiper, Dotterel or Ptarmigan.
All birds were seen in the period 6 to 28 June, on the way from Tromsø to
Kristiansund (quickly) and back (leisurely) or in the tromsø region after
our return there.
The order of birds is that of the british list, which I happened to have handy.
