A Request from a South African Birder - please reply to the source at

Greetings from South Africa. Would it be possible for you to put me in touch
with the person below (if he is on your mailing list) or alternatively to
post the note to your subscribers in Australia ? I will appreciate it very

I am hoping to contact Walter Lawson who emigrated to Australia from South
Africa some years ago and is staying at (last known address on Birdlife SA

74 Garfield Road
Brisbane QLD 4117

Walter was a member of the SA Ornithological Society when he left and
probably joined the Australian birding organization. If you perhaps know his
e-mail address I would appreciate it if you could let me have it

Walter, if you are reading this please let me know whether you were a
founder member of the Northern Transvaal Ornithological Society i.e. one of
the 10 who signed the request to the SAOS to break away from the WBC in
1970. As one of the surviving founder members still belonging to the NTOS
(now Pretoria Bird Club) I have been asked to write up the formation and
early years of the club as part of a comprehensive publication dealing with
its history to date - and I have no published material at all to help me out

Thanks a lot
Neels Roos
