Well, at least the Mallards occur in Australia, whether you like it or not.
Recently, in the west, a notable hospital with, dare I say catholic 
connections, has advertised its ability to provide comprehensive care and 
facilities to families. This care to cover the pre-natal monitoring and care, 
the birthing, and the post-natal necessities of life.
The ad has, as an eyecatcher, a picture of two adult birds at their nest caring 
for a young bird that fills the nest. The two adult birds are the southern 
African Cape Batis, Batis capensis, but the bird in the nest is a young Klaas's 
Cuckoo, Chrysococcyx klaas.
I have not asked the hospital administration whether they are promoting either 
adoption or even surrogacy, but the picture was pretty.
